Black Guardian Storm Squad

Fodder (shhhh, don't tell them). These are the guys in training that you can just tell are not going to make it. Feed them to a squad of Chaos Raptors to keep them away from my important squads.

These dudes have kahonnas though and sometimes it works in their favor. I have floated a Wave Serpent full of them up to a brood of Genestealers and hopped out right in front of them. As the Tyranid player rolls on the ground with laughter, I pull out my two flamer templates...

On occasion I will have an Avatar join the squad. He finds it a nuisance, because he has to avoid stepping on their puny behinds- but he is always happy for the chance to hack some poor enemy model into tiny, smoldering pieces. This combination adds an additonal wound to their close combat total and makes them fearless. (You always want your fodder to be fearless!)

If you decide to field a Guardian Storm Squad against Tyranids, don't forget to give them a flamer and take advantage of their Lictor-flushing abilities. Hide and seek is only fun when it's played the Eldar way.

They were painted mostly blood red (actually, scab red to be exact) to make them look a bit more aggressive and initimidating. They also seem to move a bit faster as well. I'm not sure why it works, but my Orky friends tell me that there's some law of nature that makes it so.

Since they don't make Guardian Storm models, I've converted my own. The Flamer is a Fire Dragon with a guardian helmet. Other stormers are mostly leftover heavy platform gunners. Their swords were carved down from the Space Marine close combat sprue.
